Any type of product. Any type of store. Here's what you need to know:
-
Complete Site Hosting or Drop-In Shopping Cart - The Choice is Yours
Already have a website? Starting from scratch? Cartooga can host your online store and seamlessly integrate it with your existing website, or just host your entire site. Which method you choose will depend on your business and the type of store you're running, but don't worry about that - just contact a member of our implementation team and we'll evaluate your site for free to see which method is right for you.
-
Search Engine Friendly
Most online stores never reach their full potential because of this single area - if the search engines can't index your pages, customers will never find you! The Cartooga platform is designed with search engine optimization in mind. Every product, brand, category, and custom page has its own static URL that you can rename at any time.
-
Complete Inventory Management
Cartooga can operate as a true SKU/UPC based system, making inventory control a breeze. If you're selling apparel or any other type of products that come in different colors and sizes, you'll immediately recognize how important this is. Most carts allow you to configure "options and sizes" for a product and allow users to choose what they want from a drop-down menu, but the ability to keep track of how many of each of those options and sizes are in inventory is limited and products end up getting oversold. With Cartooga it's no longer an issue.
-
Multi-Tiered Pricing Options
You're not just limited to one retail price for an item. Each individual SKU can have separate pricing, and you also have the ability to create price groups to organize customers into. That means you can create retail pricing, wholesale pricing, club membership pricing, however you want to do it. There is no limit to the number of price groups you can create, making Cartooga an excellent choice for "discount club" sites where the price the customer pays varies by their membership type. A customer's assigned price group can be changed manually, or through what we call "trigger products". A trigger product is a product that automatically switches the user to a different pre-defined price group when purchased.
-
Split Payments
Do it like the infomercials do. A per-item setting allows you to split an item into multiple payments at intervals you specify. Having trouble selling those expensive items? Split it up into 3 or 4 payments and watch them go out the door - the system manages it all for you.
-
Subscription Trigger
Any product can initiate a subscription, based on whatever payment interval (specified in days) that you decide. Subscriptions can trigger an order or just bill the customer and ship nothing - great for "Product of the Month" clubs, or products that have disposable components that the customer will need to replace frequently.
-
Deal of the Day
We have to give credit to woot.com for being the first to really make the "One day deal" concept mainstream, but ever since they did it other website owners have been running with the idea. In the spirit of flattery (translation: copying stuff other people have that we like), Cartooga has a deal of the day engine built in. This section of the back-end lets you put a product on the calendar and discount it for one day. Customers can also subscribe to receive e-mails whenever a new daily deal is launched, which keeps visitors coming back every day. The is also an automatic feed builder, so you can submit your site to the numerous "one day deal" sites out there that will drive traffic back to your store.
-
Advanced Promotion Engine
Ever wanted to do some crazy promotion, like "Buy 3 red widgets and get a blue widget free" or "Buy Dress A, Shoes B, and Purse C and save 20%"? Now you can. The Cartooga promotion engine was designed to make it easy for you to build virtually any type of promo/discount/giveaway you can think of. Each promotion can be triggered when the customer enters a coupon code, or automatically when the customer adds the qualifying items to the cart. It's up to you.
-
Product Bundles
Product Bundles are a way of allowing customers to add multiple items to the cart with a single click - they go great with promotions, but can work by themselves too. You simply define which products can be bundled together, and on the product page for any of the products in the bundle, they'll also see an option where they can add the other items to the cart at the same time.
-
Authorize.Net and PayPal Support
If you want to just collect the customer's billing information and process it yourself later Cartooga can do that too, but one of the great benefits is the real-time credit card processing and bank drafts via Authorize.Net. If you have an Authorize.Net account, users can enter their credit card or bank account information (you can choose which you allow) and they'll be charged instantly at checkout. We also support PayPal, so if you accept PayPal as a payment method customers can pay using them too. We may expand this in the future to include Google Checkout and some other payment gateways.
-
Real-Time Shipping Calculations for UPS, FedEx, and the US Post Office
Cartooga communicates with these carriers automatically, passing the ship-from address, ship-to address, and the weight of the items in the cart and getting a shipping total back. You'll never over or under-charge your customers for shipping again! Of course, you don't have to use the real-time shipping system... you can set the system in flat-rate mode too, or even charge a specific amount for every item. And don't tell anyone, but you can even slip in handling charges too - again, store-wide or per item.
-
Multi-State Sales Tax Tables
This one couldn't get any easier - any states where you have to collect sales tax, you just enter the rate. The system takes care of the rest - if the customer's shipping address is in a taxable state, they'll be charged sales tax when they check out. If not, they won't!
-
Ability to Restrict Products by State or Country
Sometimes some kinds of products can't be shipped to certain states or countries for legal reasons, or hey maybe you've just got a personal grudge against a state... Anyway we just thought you should know that if there is any reason you're not going to ship anything from your store, or just some specific items, to a specific state or country you have the option of restricting it. Customers with a ship-to address in that state will be politely informed that the item isn't available at that location.
-
Up-Sell Engine
When a user adds an item to the cart, the system can pop up a message asking if they would also like to add another item. Simple to set up, and great for selling extended warranties or related add-on products!
-
User Ratings and Comments
Our one-to-five star rating system lets customers rate products and post comments about them right on the product page. You can leave this in "anything goes" mode where all ratings and comments will be visible immediately, or moderated mode where you or your staff have to manually approve comments. If you want, you can also restrict whether or not someone has to have actually bought the product before they can comment on it.
-
Advanced Product Imaging
No more screwing around with making thumbnails of your products - just upload your best high-res shot and the system will do the rest. With our on-the-fly image resizing technology, the server will display your images in the appropriate resolution on the site automatically with no quality loss. Demo it.
-
Built-In Affiliate Program
Affiliate programs are great for turning casual surfers and bloggers into an army of independent sales reps - and Cartooga manages the whole thing for you automatically. Just tell the system how much of a commission you're willing to pay for each product, and users can sign up and join the program at will. You can specify the payment terms, how long you're holding the funds, etc. and the system will tell you who to pay, how much, and when. That's all there is to it!
-
Employee Access Control
Sometimes you want your employees to have full access to the back-end - and sometimes you don't! Maybe you just want certain people to be able to process orders and mark them as shipped, but not edit the products. Maybe you have some data entry people who's job is to monitor the inventory and add new products, but you don't want them to see who your customers are. Every single aspect of the control panel can be configured at the user level, allowing you to grant/deny specific access to the back-end control panel.
-
Edit Shopping Cart Contents in Live-Mode
Ever have a customer call you up and say "Hey, I'm looking at your site and I added Product X to my cart, but I can't find Product Y" - and then you have to explain to them "Ok, click here, then click this category, then go to page 5, and yep, there it is, see it?" ... forget that! What if you could just go into the control panel, see who's currently on the site, pull up their cart, and add the item yourself. All you have to say then is "Ok, click your refresh button I added it to your cart". And they say "Wow man, what are you, some kind of magician?" Yes. Yes you are.
-
Drop-In Cart Buttons to Any Site
If you have some other websites you run or want to send an email to someone, instead of just sending them a link to the product page you can send them a button that lets them actually add it to the cart. It's just a single line of Javascript and can be placed on any page for any product. They click the button and the item is in the cart. If you're clever and know how to use IFRAMES, you can handle the entire checkout process this way and the user will never even leave the site they're on. Demo it.
-
Third Party Fulfillment/Logistics Integration
Need to generate a file containing all of your orders and send it off to another company for fulfillment? No problemo. Cartooga can be configured to automatically integrate with remote fulfillment centers and logistics companies on a case by case basis, so Contact Us and let us know your situation. Whether you're charging the customer's cards and just having a third party ship the orders, or you're just collecting the information and the fulfillment center handles the rest, we'll work it out.
-
Custom Plastic Gift Cards
Here's a feature you won't find anywhere else - our system allows you to generate gift cards loaded with pre-defined balances, upload your artwork, and we'll create high-quality credit-card style plastic cards that work with your store just like the large online retailers use. You can sell gift cards on your site, or use them as a promotional tool and give them away to get them to your online store. More Information.
